Tutoring - Spring 2026
Great Bay Community College offers tutoring on the Portsmouth campus in a variety of formats through the Center for Academic Planning and Support (CAPS). These services are FREE of charge to students enrolled in a credit-bearing class. CAPS employs both peer and professional tutors dedicated to helping students succeed, become independent and interdependent learners, and reach their academic goals.
- Drop-in On Campus Tutoring: Drop in with a tutor located in CAPS Room 210 – no appointment is needed.
- Drop-in Remote Tutoring: Drop in with a tutor remotely via Zoom. Zoom links are located on the tutor schedules below
- Professional Math & Writing Drop-in Centers provide free professional tutoring support to students enrolled in credit bearing courses.
- 24/7 Tutoring (Brainfuse) is a free online tutoring service located on your Canvas course menu. Access Live Help with a tutor or submit an assignment or feedback through the Writing Lab.

The Writing Specialist can assist writers with any writing assignment in any (or all) phase(s) of the writing process: brainstorming/prewriting, developing a thesis, drafting, revising, or editing. Writing in college is an on-going process, and we encourage writers to visit the Writing Center as often as they need. Call 603-427-7715 first to confirm on-campus tutor availability.
